Behavioral Consultations with Dr. Katz
Being a feline parent comes with countless joys. Yet, cats can present unexpected challenges that leave even the most experienced owners puzzled.
For instance, sudden aggression toward family members or other cats in the household can be deeply upsetting, especially when there are no apparent changes in the environment. Litter box issues, such as a cat refusing to use it, can disrupt even the busiest households, leaving owners stressed and overwhelmed.
Recognizing the need for professional support, Dr. Geri Katz — certified in ISFM Advanced Feline Behaviour for Veterinary Professionals — has expanded her range of services to include Behavioral Consultations tailored specifically for feline companions.
What Happens During a Behavioral Consultation?
Our consultations, available virtually and in person, typically last 30–45 minutes. During this time, Dr. Katz will:
- Conduct a detailed history of your cat’s behavior.
- Professionally observe your cat and, if needed, perform a physical examination to rule out underlying medical issues.
- Provide her expert opinion on the potential causes of the behavior and actionable steps to address it. If the behavior is linked to a medical condition, Dr. Katz will recommend appropriate follow-up care, such as additional tests or medications.
Many cat parents leave these consultations feeling hopeful and empowered, equipped with strategies to resolve the issues, restore harmony in their homes, and reconnect with their sweet, cuddly companions.
